ASB Bancorp Inc along with its subsidiary operates as a community-oriented financial institution offering traditional financial services to consumers and businesses in its market area.

ASB Bancorp Inc a North Carolina corporation was incorporated on May 12, 2011 by Asheville Savings Bank, S.S.B or the Bank to be the Bank's holding company upon completion of the Bank's conversion from the mutual to stock form of organization. The Bank operates as a community-oriented financial institution offering traditional financial services to consumers and businesses in its market area. It attracts deposits from the general public and use those funds to originate mainly one- to four-family residential mortgage loans & commercial real estate loans and to a lesser extent, home equity loans and lines of credit, consumer loans, construction & land development loans, commercial and industrial loans. The Bank conducts lending & deposit activities mainly with individuals & small businesses in its market area. Its main market area include: Asheville, North Carolina and the rest of Buncombe County, where it have eight branch offices, as well as Henderson, Madison, McDowell and Transylvania Counties where it have five branch offices. The Company does not own or lease any real property, but instead uses the premises, equipment and other property of the Bank, with the payment of appropriate rental fees, as required by applicable laws and regulations, under the terms of an expense allocation agreement entered into with the Bank. The Company is subject to extensive government regulation, supervision and examination by the FDIC & the NCCoB and the Company is subject to regulation and supervision by the FRB.
