GuruFocus Profitability Rank ranks how profitable a company is and how likely the company’s business will stay that way. It is based on these factors:

1. Operating Margin
2. Trend of the Operating Margin (5-year average). The company with an uptrend profit margin has a higher rank.
••3. Consistency of the profitability
4. Piotroski F-Score
5. Predictability Rank•

The maximum rank is 10. A rank of 7 or higher means a higher profitability and may stay that way. A rank of 3 or lower indicates that the company has had trouble to make a profit.

Profitability Rank is not directly related to the Financial Strength Rank. But if a company is consistently profitable, its financial strength will be stronger.

LifeLock Inc provides proactive identity theft protection services for consumers and identity risk assessment and fraud protection services for enterprises.

LifeLock Inc was incorporated in Delaware on April 12, 2005. The Company is a provider of proactive identity theft protection services for consumers and fraud and risk solutions for enterprises. The Company protects its consumer subscribers, whom it refers to as its members, by constantly monitoring identity-related events, such as new account openings and credit-related applications. If it detects that a member's personally identifiable information is being used, it offers near real-time, actionable alerts that provide its members peace of mind that it is monitoring use of their identity and allow its members to confirm valid or unauthorized identity use. The Company also provides remediation services to its members in the event that an identity theft actually occurs. It has two operating segments, a consumer segment and an enterprise segment. In the consumer segment, it offers identity theft protection services to consumers on a monthly or annual subscription basis. In the enterprise segment, it offers fraud and risk solutions to enterprise customers who pays on their monthly volume of transactions. The Company's primary competitors are the credit bureaus that include Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion, as well as others, such as Affinion, Early Warning Systems, Intersections, and LexisNexis. Its registered trademarks in the United States include LifeLock, LifeLock Identity Alert, ID Analytics and ID Score. The Company's business is subject to regulation by federal, state, and local authorities.
