Datec Sees Strong Product Differentiation With Nimble Predictive All Flash Array

Leading Video Game Developer Works With Datec to Deploy Nimble Storage After Stringent Evaluation With Competitive Flash Storage Solutions

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 27, 2016) - Nimble Storage (NYSE: NMBL), the leader in predictive flash storage, today announced that Datec, a provider of network and data solutions, has experienced accelerated momentum with the Nimble Storage AF-Series All Flash arrays, resulting in deployments following competitive evaluations. Most recently, Datec led a proof of concept (POC) for a leading video game developer evaluating flash storage providers. The customer selected a Nimble AF9000 All Flash array, which delivered performance that outpaced competitive solutions. "We have worked with Nimble Storage as a channel partner for more than six years, and with the addition of Nimble's All Flash array, the company has met a growing market demand for all-flash storage. We are finding opportunities to bring in Nimble's All Flash array in more competitive POCs," said Cliff McElroy, president at Datec. "The Nimble Adaptive Flash arrays have been known for ease of use and speed in head-to-head evaluations, and we're seeing the same results with the All-Flash array. What stands out most is that Nimble's support team really shined in the POC for a leading game developer. The support team responded to every scenario presented until the customer was completely set up and self-sufficient. This remains a major reason why Nimble continues to win over intense competition." The gaming developer company began its search for a new storage infrastructure provider after SanDisk began discontinuing its larger capacity FusionIO cards. During the POC phase, Nimble proved to have far superior all flash arrays when compared to competition, with read/write speeds nearly two times as fast as FusionIO. Additionally, Nimble was unique in offering exceptional reporting capabilities through InfoSight, its predictive analytics engine, providing the customer with insight into its storage environment and validating performance and capacity numbers in real time. Unlike competitive solutions, the Nimble All Flash array provides benefits including speed, by giving users the most reliable access to data through predictive analytics embedded in a unified flash fabric. InfoSight Predictive Analytics provides visibility across the entire application-to-storage stack, analyzing millions of data points every day to predict and prevent issues. Enterprises such as the gaming developer are impressed by Nimble's automated support model, removing lengthy customer support cycles to solve issues. "We've seen tremendous momentum within our channel ecosystem recently," said Leonard Iventosch, vice president of worldwide channels at Nimble Storage. "Datec has been an important channel partner for years, and does an exceptional job identifying customers that can benefit from the speed, performance and real-time insights offered by our Predictive All Flash array, and we look forward to building on this traction." Nimble Storage Predictive All Flash Arrays Selected by Over 200 Organizations

9,000 Enterprises Selected the Predictive Flash Platform for Fast, Reliable Access to Data

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 27, 2016) - Nimble Storage (NYSE: NMBL), the leader in predictive flash storage, today announced its Predictive Flash platform has been selected by more than 9,000 enterprises and cloud service providers to provide fast, reliable access to data. Since introducing its Predictive All Flash array in February 2016, the AF-Series has been purchased by more than 200 customers. More than half of the All Flash customers are "new to Nimble" customers, and a majority also leverage Adaptive Flash arrays. InfoSight Predictive Analytics stand out as a key competitive differentiation in the sales cycle, providing extreme simplicity of operations by predicting and preventing issues.  "Flash storage is a ridiculously competitive market. Enterprises have many vendors and products to evaluate when selecting infrastructure to accelerate business. We're finding that our unique differentiation, InfoSight Predictive Analytics, gives us a leg up on the competition in the majority of competitive deals," said Suresh Vasudevan, CEO, Nimble Storage. "Furthermore, by combining All Flash and Adaptive Flash arrays into a single architecture, we're offering enterprises a flexible way to use all flash and hybrid arrays together to meet application performance needs. It is no surprise that the All Flash array adoption we're experiencing is reminiscent of the early days of selling our Adaptive Flash arrays." The rapid adoption of the Nimble Storage All Flash array is attributed to the unparalleled differentiators Nimble can deliver with the new All Flash arrays including absolute performance, superior scalability and non-stop availability, at a total cost of ownership (TCO) that is up to 33 to 66 percent lower than competitive arrays. The All Flash arrays round out the Nimble portfolio of Predictive Flash arrays which include a series of Adaptive Flash arrays -- all of which are supported by InfoSight Predictive Analytics. According to IDC Research Director Eric Burgener, "Delivering a standout customer experience was a way that Nimble Storage strove to differentiate itself from established enterprise storage providers early on, and it has an excellent reputation among its customers for the overall experience of buying, using, and maintaining the Company's flash-optimized products. Nimble Storage has consciously managed its customer care processes, putting in place product features (like extensive predictive analytics to proactively address looming trouble situations and nondisruptive technology refresh), internal procedures in both sales and support, and hiring practices focused on producing a differentiating customer experience." Saunderson House Limited (SHL) provides complete financial planning and investment services to over 1,900 high net-worth individuals, charities, trusts and other institutional clients. Fast and simplified access to data is at the core of its ability to make strategic decisions for its clients. SHL initially purchased Nimble Adaptive Flash arrays in 2012 to support a VMware VDI initiative. The performance of the arrays vastly exceeded expectations encouraging the IT team to quickly transfer the rest of its workloads onto Nimble arrays. With the recent purchase of a Nimble All Flash array, SHL can cluster and manage multiple arrays as a single entity in a Unified Flash Fabric. SHL consolidated workloads from two Nimble Adaptive Flash arrays onto a Nimble AF5000 All Flash array. With its primary data on the All Flash array, the firm is leveraging their Adaptive Flash arrays to support expansion into a second data center to support its disaster recovery strategy, development, user acceptance testing and support functions. Grant Street Group Moves SAN to Nimble Storage Predictive Flash Platform for Improved Latency and TCO

Grant Street Group develops, hosts, and administers customized software applications for government entities and financial institutions. Using the software as a service (SaaS) model, Grant Street provides its clients with access to the latest technologies from any location with Internet access -- saving them time, money, and staff resources. Grant Street needed to implement a cost-efficient storage infrastructure without compromising performance. With Nimble CS-Series Adaptive Flash and AF-Series All Flash arrays, Grant Street is experiencing faster application response times at a lower TCO compared to its legacy infrastructure. The Nimble deduplication features enable Grant Street to receive 50 percent more storage, with over 3x data reduction savings. Grant Street depends heavily on InfoSight to monitor capacity trends and VMVision to identify noisy neighbors. Rent-A-Center Utilizes the Predictive Flash Platform for Faster Analytics and Improved Daily Operations

Rent-A-Center rents furniture, appliances, electronics and computers, with more than 22,000 employees in over 4,000 locations in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico. Its IT team supports all retail locations worldwide, as well as all of the internal teams. Rent-A-Center needed to rebuild its data warehouse in order to deliver a consistent user experience anytime, anywhere in the world. The IT team wanted to reduce cost while providing a faster, more scalable and easy-to-manage storage infrastructure. The Nimble Storage Unified Flash Fabric provides Rent-A-Center with a cost-effective and fast solution to perform analytics and auditing of the company's retail locations on a daily basis. Nimble Storage has allowed Rent-A-Center to evaluate extended historical performance and take actions on those results. Nimble Storage Resources

Nimble Storage Predictive Flash Is Now App-Centric

Introducing App-Centric Functionality Including Quality of Service, Secure Multi-tenancy, Docker Support and App-Based Storage Pricing

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 12, 2016) - Nimble Storage (NYSE: NMBL), the leader in predictive flash storage, today announced a comprehensive suite of features that are optimized around fast and predictable application delivery. The Nimble Predictive Flash platform allows IT to deliver applications confidently with Quality of Service (QoS) and secure multi-tenancy across VMware, OpenStack, KVM and now Docker Containers. With app-centric management within InfoSight Predictive Analytics businesses now have more visibility and control of application performance. App-based Storage on Demand provides a cloud-like pricing model where enterprises only pay for the storage consumed by each application. This app-centric approach provides greater predictability and ease of management for applications across the enterprise. "Infrastructure exists only to meet the demands of applications," said Ajay Singh, vice president of product management, Nimble Storage. "We recognize the need to bridge the gap between the application and storage owner. By taking an app-centric approach, IT teams are better positioned to meet the service level demands of the business. With new features like QoS and secure multi-tenancy we are providing enterprises with predictable performance, simplicity of management, and secure isolation of applications across the enterprise."  Quality of Service and Secure Multi-Tenancy Deliver Predictable Application Performance To meet application service level agreements (SLAs), Nimble Storage enables customers to consolidate infrastructure and easily manage applications with predictable performance through secure multi-tenancy and QoS. Multi-tenant storage allows secure application management and isolation while QoS prevents rogue workloads from impacting critical applications. Application Delivery Model Options Now Include Docker Containers

Businesses want the flexibility to deliver applications using the framework of their choice without increased complexity. Nimble now supports native persistent storage for Docker Containers. Nimble already delivers app-level granularity through VMware VVols and native support for OpenStack Clouds. The depth of the app-centric integration across these platforms -- policy-based application provisioning, clones, snapshots, replication and encryption -- is the core of modern application delivery support. App-Centric Management through Predictive Analytics

Nimble Storage InfoSight VMVision gives customers clear visibility across the storage-to-VM infrastructure stack. VMVision allows organizations to automatically identify noisy VM neighbors by narrowing down the exact application that is draining resources from other workloads. Where traditional storage based insights do not provide granular data for capacity planning and forecasting, VMVision provides IT with app-level capacity data for accurate storage planning. "InfoSight allows us to identify issues throughout the entire infrastructure stack -- not just storage. Through VMVision we've been able to track down host or network latency when experiencing poor performance on a particular VM or group of VMs. We've also tracked down 'misbehaving' VMs simply by using the 'Top VMs' tabs to show their utilization in IOPS. We're instantly able to see that one VM is way above others," said Andrew Stock, senior systems engineer, Modern Health. "InfoSight provided this in-depth level of detail when no other tool gave me the basic information I needed." App-based Pricing for Storage on Demand Provides Cloud-like Agility

Nimble Storage on Demand ensures users only pay for the application storage that they use, whether usage goes up or down. Now customers can consume storage based on application usage exactly as they do in a cloud environment. Based on a pre-set app-specific SLA customers can pay for what they consume starting from 6.8 ¢ per GB per month for All Flash storage*. "With SOD we no longer have to predict how much storage we need to satisfy the business -- we only pay for the storage we actually use. As we add new applications there is always enough storage and Nimble proactively delivers additional arrays and storage shelves as needed," said Paul Einarson, chief information officer, Catalyst Paper. "Essentially our storage systems behave just like the cloud." For more information on Nimble Predictive Flash platform, please visit www.nimblestorage.com. *Based on U.S. pricing only. Pricing and availability vary by application, SLA, and region. Nimble Storage Resources

Nimble Storage Enables Cloud Service Providers to Enhance Offerings

New App-Centric Approach and Cloud Service Provider Program Enable Cloud Partners to Increase Competitive Advantage by Offering Comprehensive Premium Services

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 12, 2016) - Nimble Storage (NYSE: NMBL), the leader in predictive flash storage, today announced new features for Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) to offer premium app-centric services to customers. The Predictive Flash platform has become a defacto storage standard within more than 500 CSP environments, including SaaS and IaaS companies. The new app-centric approach allows CSPs to take advantage of Quality of Service (QoS), secure multi-tenancy, and app-based Storage on Demand pricing to drive a competitive edge with efficient operations and app-specific offerings. The new CSP Partner Program allows partners to access a broader customer ecosystem.  "Cloud service providers are one of our fastest growing channels. Hundreds of IaaS providers have chosen Nimble Storage for performance, availability and operational simplicity. Now they can offer highly-differentiated app-centric services that are easy to monetize," said Leonard Iventosch, vice president of Worldwide Channels, Nimble Storage. "In addition, the introduction of our CSP partner program enables CSPs to extend their reach through a broader customer ecosystem."  QoS and Multi-tenancy Drive Efficient Infrastructure and Operations

Leveraging the power of the Predictive Flash platform allows CSPs to offer premium services with leaner operations. Nimble now enables CSPs to consolidate infrastructure and easily manage applications with predictable performance through secure multi-tenancy and QoS. Multi-tenant storage allows CSPs to securely isolate end-customers and applications, while QoS prevents rogue workloads from impacting critical applications. "A key factor to our success as a business relies on the ability to support multiple customers and tenants and maintain service level agreements," said Christopher Fox, chief technology officer, Ideal Integrations. "Adding the Nimble All Flash array to our portfolio while leveraging the new multi-tenancy and QoS capabilities allows us to deliver a wide range of services from premium to cost-effective. We are able to grow our cloud business and extend our services to a broader ecosystem of customers."  The Predictive Flash platform allows CSPs to streamline operations and lower infrastructure costs. Leveraging the power of predictive analytics and machine learning CSPs can reduce operational complexity and focus on offering premium services. "We use InfoSight to manage our ever expanding global cloud infrastructure to keep customer satisfied and exceed service levels without bogging down our technical resources," said William Bell, vice president of Products, phoenixNAP. "Nimble's app-centric approach allows applications to run optimally out of the box and has enabled us to deliver profitable application services." CSPs Can Tie Expenses to Revenue

With Nimble's new app-based pricing for Storage on Demand, CSPs now only pay for the storage their customers use whether consumption goes up or down. Nimble takes responsibility for providing the appropriate storage devices suited to the app-specific SLA. CSPs are only billed monthly for the actual application storage usage, starting from 6.8 ¢ per GB per month for All Flash storage*. Introducing New CSP Partner Program

The CSP Partner Program is a two-tier partner program that offers certifications, discounts and ecosystem expansion to help drive profitable growth. CSPs in the program can leverage joint sales, technical and marketing investments to extend into Nimble's broad ecosystem of customers and partners. Pricing and availability vary by application, SLA, and region. Nimble Storage Resources
