Vivint Solar Inc is a United States-based solar company that distributes electricity to residential customers through long-term contracts. Contracts are offered at rates lower than customers' current utility rate, and provide locked-in energy prices over the life of the contract. Through direct-to-home sales, the company provides consultation to prospective customers on feasibility of a solar system. Vivint has designed and engineered its own solar energy systems for customer use by using proprietary processes. As a licensed contractor in its markets, the company takes responsibility for each installation. Once installed, the company continues to monitor the performance of its energy systems to ensure quality.
