TIM Brasil is the second-largest wireless telephone operator by number of subscribers in Brazil, with 63.4 million subscribers. It has been particularly successful in the prepaid wireless market, where it is the largest operator, with 48.5 million customers. The firm is 67% owned by Telecom Italia. It also owns Intelig, which possesses 35,000 kilometres of fibre that is currently being used for its 305,000-subscriber fibre service.
