Towerstream Corp is a provider of fixed wireless services to businesses through its two business segments; Fixed Wireless Services Segment, and Shared Wireless Infrastructure Services Segment.

Towerstream Corp was incorporated in December 1999 in Delaware. The Company is a 4G and Small Cell Rooftop Tower company which provides wireless communication services. It operates in two business segments; Fixed Wireless Services Segment, and Shared Wireless Infrastructure Segment. Its business activities were focused on delivering fixed wireless broadband services to commercial customers over a wireless network transmitting over both regulated and unregulated radio spectrum. Its fixed wireless service supports bandwidth on demand, wireless redundancy, virtual private networks, disaster recovery, bundled data and video services. It provides services to business customers in New York City, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Miami, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Philadelphia, Nashville, Las Vegas-Reno and Providence-Newport. The Company has been exploring opportunities to leverage its fixed wireless network in urban markets to provide other wireless technology solutions and services. The Company incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary, Hetnets Tower Corporation. Hetnets utilizes the carrier-class network constructed on the street level rooftops to generate rental income from four separate sources including; rental of space on street level rooftops for the installation of customer owned small cells which includes Wi-Fi antennae, DAS, and Metro and Pico cells; rental of a channel on Hetnets' Wi-Fi network for internet access and the offloading of mobile data; rental of a port for backhaul or transport; and power and other related services. It employs an inside direct sales force model to sells its services to business customers. The Company competes with Comcast Corporation, Time Warner Cable, Charter, Cox Communications, TelePacific Communications, MegaPath Networks, EarthLink, Inc., WildBlue Communications, Inc., Hughes Network Systems, LLC., AT&T Inc. and Verizon Communications Inc. The Company's business activities, including the acquisition, lease, maintenance and use of spectrum licenses, are extensively regulated by federal, state and local governmental authorities.
