Its operating subsidiaries provide life insurance and annuity products through independent agents and financial advisors. Its main insurance company subsidiaries are Phoenix Life Insurance Company, domiciled in New York, and PHL Variable Insurance Company, domiciled in Connecticut. Its life insurance in force is permanent life insurance insuring one or more lives.
