The company itself has a market value of approximately $53 billion, having an increase of $20 billion from its valuation just two years ago. Its largest investment holdings are in Apple Inc., Exxon Mobil, Wells Fargo & Co., and Johnson & Johnson. The company employs over 1000 people in its offices in New York, San Francisco, London, Boston, Chicago and Charlotte. Its parent company TIAA-CREF Asset Management holds the majority ownership in the company with the remaining shares largely split among executives. Teachers Advisors largely caters to investment companies, although its wide client base also includes a variety of others. The company generates its revenue through a mixture of percentage of assets and fixed fees. Some of the notable mutual funds offered through its parent company TIAA-CREF Asset Management company include US. Growth & Income, U.S. Social Choice Equity, International Opportunities, Emerging Markets Equity Index, Bond Index, Lifecycle Retirement Income, and Money Market funds. The current CEO Robert Leary also acts as the executive vice president of TIAA-CREF.
