Charlie Tian, Ph.D. is the creator of GuruFocus value screeners, strategies, and research tools, which benefit millions of investors worldwide. Dr. Tian is also the founder, Chief Executive Officer and portfolio manager of GuruFocus Investments, LLC, an SEC-registered investment management firm.

Dr. Charlie Tian was inspired by the wisdom of legendary investors like Warren Buffett, Benjamin Graham and Peter Lynch after the internet bubble burst in 2000. He developed GuruFocus in December of 2004, providing institutional investors’ trading information with the belief that investors would make fewer mistakes if they were to select stocks from the ones that have been researched by the best investors in the world.

Dr. Charlie Tian wrote an investing book titled "Invest Like A Guru" (Wiley, 2017, English version). The book was subsequently translated into Chinese and published by Peking University Press in 2018 as "Invest as a Master A Minimalist Value Investment Strategy." It has since been published in Japanese, Korean and Traditional Chinese as well.
