User Notes, Comments, and Questions
there is no purpose to see his porfolio, these guy next filing will be 70%different, so you really dont know , recently there were news that he lost money in a short position in a bank in london and atually he had cover that position he was out of there,
Paulson is good at arbitrage. His portfolio can serve as idea generation and validation for arbitrage opportunities, as we can see from his holdings in UST, WB, NCC, MER etc.
I am with you about the shorts, and I find it very frustrating to look at this incomplete picture of his portfolio, that may give us the wrong conclusions. But I do not think you can get the short positions from any public filings, so you can not be sure what he is short now or last quarter. So the question becomes, do we want to know what he is long, knowing he may also have many large short positions. I do want to know the longs, even if that is all we get. But if you know his short positions then please put it on the new wiki page.
....same issue for Einhorn and Soros.....

John Langston
What is the purpose of seeing John Paulson's portfolio if shorts aren't included? John Langston
