International Paper Co. (IP, Financial)

International Paper Co. is a global paper and forest products company thatis complemented by an extensive distribution system. International Paper Co. has a market cap of $13.38 billion; its shares were traded at around $30.42 with a P/E ratio of 14.8 and P/S ratio of 0.5. On March 29th the company increased its quarterly dividend 40% to $0.2625/share. The dividend is payable on June 15, 2011 to shareholders of record on May 17, 2011. The yield based on the new payout is 3.6%.


International Paper reported net earnings of $316 million ($0.73 per share) compared with a net loss of $101 million ($0.24 per share) in the fourth quarter of 2009. Quarterly net sales were $6.5 billion compared with $6.0 billion in the fourth quarter of 2009. Annual sales totaled $25.2 billion compared with $23.4 billion in 2009.
