Leon Cooperman has been in the financial business for about 40 years. He manages about $6 billion and they call him a "legend investor".

For myself and those of us who need a brush-up on who Leon Cooperman is, here is a profile from Forbes
Mr. Cooperman has been chairman and chief executive officer of Omega Advisors, Inc. since 1991. Mr. Cooperman retired from his positions as a general partner of Goldman, Sachs & Co. and as chairman and chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs Asset Management at the end of 1991, after twenty-five years of service. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a senior member and past president of the New York Society of Security Analysts.

Forbes ranked him the No.655 wealthiest person in the world in 2010 with $1.6 billion net worth. Here is more on him from Forbes:
Plumber's son attended Hunter College, became a Xerox quality-control engineer 1965. Columbia M.B.A.; started Goldman Sachs' asset management arm. Founded Omega Advisors 1991. Investment firm managed $4.6 billion in December. Returned 54% net of fees last year, lost 34% in 2008.

This morning he talked to CNBC extensively on why he joins the parade for equities instead that for bonds. Here are a few clips:

Here he extends his thesis for stocks. He also surveys the landscape of M&A activities and explains why that spells good news for stocks.:

In the third clip, he goes deeper into the areas he likes the most: Energy, Financials, HMO, and even autos.

ā€œThere are tremendous amount of cheap stocks out thereā€, he said.
