Columbia Reports Strong Q1, Boosts Dividend Agai.

Columbia Sportswear Company (COLM) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.22 per share within today’s impressive first quarter earnings release, pushing its payout higher by 10%. This is the second time since October the outdoor apparel company has given its shareholders a raise. Columbia reported first quarter earnings of $0.37 per share on $333.1 million in revenue, beating the consensus views for both profit ($0.29 per share) and sales ($330.2 million). The company added that it expects sales to grow by 14% to 16% this year, while analysts are currently projecting revenue to improve by just 12.3%.

Shares of COLM popped to $66.13 (+2.93%) in extended trading, where they now yield 1.33%.

Columbia has now raised its dividend four times since it began returning cash to shareholders in 2006, pushing its payout higher by a total of 57% over that span. The company also handed out a $1.50 special dividend at the end of 2010.

Vanguard Natural Resources Ups Distribution Again

Vanguard Natural Resources, LLC (VNR) declared a quarterly distribution of $0.57 per unit today, a one-penny improvement over the company’s previous payout. Vanguard has now raised its distribution four times since the beginning of last year.

VNR closed at $32.95 today, where it yields 6.92%.

Vanguard has now increased its payout by a total of 34% since its 2008 IPO, including 14% since the beginning of 2010.

Gold Resource Raises Monthly Dividend by 33%

Gold Resource Corporation (GORO) declared its tenth consecutive monthly dividend today. The low-cost gold producer is increasing its rate to $0.04 per share, one penny better than its previous nine payouts.

Shares of GORO closed at $30.72 today, where they now feature a 1.56% dividend yield.

Gold Resources categorizes its monthly payouts as special dividends, but they’ve become pretty regular. The company has returned cash to shareholders every month since August 2010.

PartnerRe Boosts Dividend Again

PartnerRe Ltd. (PRE) has declared a quarterly dividend of $0.60 per share, a 9.1% improvement over the $0.55 paid each of the previous two quarters by the global reinsurer, which has raised its payout for 17 consecutive years.

Shares of PRE closed Thursday trading at $80.53, where they now feature a 2.98% dividend yield.

PartnerRe has increased its annual dividend total every year dating back to 1995, including three dividend hikes since the beginning of 2010.

BreitBurn Raises Distribution For 4th Straight Quarter

BreitBurn Energy Partners L.P. (BBEP) declared a quarterly distribution of $0.4175 per unit on Thursday, raising its payout for the fourth consecutive quarter.

BBEP closed at $21.75 on Thursday, where it now yields 7.68%.

BreitBurn’s new distribution rate is 1.2% better than its payout from last quarter. The independent oil and gas partnership has now raised its distribution in each of the four quarters since reinstating its payout last year, for a total increase of 11.3%. The new quarterly rate still sits below its 2008-2009 peak of $0.52 per share.
