During the third quarter the market was shadowed by the credit crunch and sub-prime loan crisis. Financial stocks were hit especially hard, and they are still hurting. We all know that financial sector is one of Warren Buffett's "circle of competence". It will not be surprising that Warren Buffett picks some bargains there. There were reports saying that Warren Buffett bought Countrywide Financial (CFC) and Bear Sterns (BSC), which Warren Buffett denied later. We know the facts that Warren Buffett added to his holdings in Burlington Northern (BNI) and sold two other railroads, Norfolk Southern Corp (NSC) and Union Pacific Corp (UNP).
