His safer picks are big regional banks: U.S. Bank Corp (USB), BB&T (BBT) and PNC financial (PNC).
His riskier picks are: JPMorgan (JPM), Bank of America (BAC) and Well Fargo (WFC).
He prefers playing with riskier banks and says big banks are critical to the U.S. economy.
