Charlie Rose Interviews Berkshire Hathaway Director Bill Gates
Charlie Rose sits down with Gates who likes to spend his time on such things as:
- Energy innovation, trying to find cheaper and cleaner energy sources
- Improving the science education American children are receiving
Gates thinks that individuals and corporations must have goals in order to maximize their achievements.
With respect to Microsoft, Gates is happy with the performance of his new CEO Ballmer but is not fully satisfied with where the company currently is.
The mission statement of the Gates Foundation is that "All Lives Have Equal Value," and he is trying to lessen the inequality in the world.

Who does that remind you of? Only his best pals, Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger. Both can be described the same way.
Rose said Bill Gates reads two hours every night, and goes through his email another 1.5 to 2 hours a night -- Gates admitted he is a "night person" but still needs at least 7 hours of sleep every night or else his "IQ drops". (Ben Franklin wrote that he aimed to read at least one hour every night after work).
I think Buffett said Gates reads a book a day. I wish I had that luxury of time!
