Gabelli likes to invest alongside investors who act as catalysts for value realization.

One example is Carl Icahn who Gabelli has invested alongside in Navistar (NAV, Financial).

Gabelli thinks that Navistar which is currently trading at $33 per share will make $6 per share five years from now. Put a 10 multiple on that and an investor has a double from current prices.
