(PCLN, Financial) is the leading online travel agency, operating websites across the world, including booking.com, priceline.com and agoda.com.The company's shares rose after reporting good results that highlighted its many opportunities to expand in fast-growing overseas markets, where the offline-to-online shift in hotel bookings continued. In addition, investors became less concerned that competition with other players in the online travel sector would lead to higher marketing costs and reduced profit margins. Finally, the company has had early success growing its booking.com business outside of its existing core European markets.
