One of my very favorite Warren Buffett investing success stories is from the "Asian Flu" of the late '90s.

Markets in Asia had collapsed and Buffett asked his broker to provide him with an S&P guide consisting of all stocks listed in South Korea.

Buffett spent an afternoon picking stocks from the booklet that were trading at incredibly low multiples of cash flow and book value. He allocated a few hundred million dollars to buy a basket of these Korean stocks and a couple of years later was able to sell them all with tremendous gains.
