Samsung (SSNLF, Financial) is spreading the dense carpet to launch its new flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6. Grapevine has it that Galaxy S6 is being moulded up to outweigh Apple (AAPL, Financial) iPhone 6 plus sales. Analysts still are a little too apprehensive about its agenda being well carried out.

If reports are to be believed, two versions of the handsets are afoot to be released, only one of which is likely to render a curved display. Although the pricing isn’t as crazy as iPhone, it’s quite a gutsy game for Galaxy to break free of its lineage.

Check out the expected features of Samsung Galaxy S6

  • Scratch-proof Gorilla Glass
  • Samsung Exynos Hexcore 800 processor
  • Bendable Screen
  • 8 MP front facing HD video camera for chat
  • Ultra high-resolution 4K display Light weight at 115 g
  • 4000 MAh monster battery

Why Samsung needs a boost

The state-of-the-art cutting-edge Galaxy handsets turned out to be disappointing enough not to press the sales envelope. The entire sales failure resulted from the nosedive in demand and iPhone 6 and 6 plus’ worldwide reception, to say the least. However, Samsung didn’t much disappoint in the fourth quarter which wafted out of its monolithic control over the large-screen smartphone market. Now that Apple has matched steps, Samsung needs to boost its selling strategies and find a new selling point altogether for its Galaxy handsets.

During the end of the last year, Samsung blew the lid off its flagship phone, Galaxy Note Edge, with unique display screen wrapped around the side feature. The first of its kind product, however, was released in limited quantities which cherished narrow marketing support. The device was unique by not only the looks but by overall functionality, still had odds in its bid. So it is time already for Samsung to push its new display technology into the mainstream.

Bloomberg says that, in all likelihood, Samsung will play its display technology card to push up the sales. Hence S6 will come with a screen that wraps around both the sides and will be sold in massive quantities. With Samsung’s large marketing budget on its stride, it will be the first and only mainstream phone with a multi-sided display.

Samsung’s new market outlook

After the Galaxy S4’s global success, Samsung has repeated the technology is S5 which dealt a massive blow in its sales. Hopefully, Samsung is now once beaten twice shy and on a new frame of mind to bring forth a new technology altogether in its S6. Grapevine has it that Samsung is eyeing to outshine Apple’s sales, if so then it really requires to work up a sweat to make the unbelievable rumours reality.

There is also a rumor making the rounds that Samsung is all set to launch another handset apart from their much awaited flagship Galaxy S6, which happens to be a remodelled version of their Galaxy S5, called Galaxy Alpha. Analysts don’t approve of the idea because Samsung is launching competition within its own competitive line, let alone the other manufacturers.

Why the high sales of S6 are feared to land in a quandary

What posed a severe threat in Samsung’s line are its rivals Xiaomi in China, Micromax in India and Apple all over the world. However, in the global smartphone market, during the fourth quarter of 2014, Samsung rubbed shoulders with Apple as the most selling smartphone maker. Later Samsung went on to crush Apple. But now that the tables have been turned with the massive acceptance of iPhone 6 and 6 plus, Samsung has to tread the extra mile to bring back its lost glory.

Last words

Before winding up, his fact also needs consideration that Samsung’s S5 was rebuffed by the consumers for being in the same lines with S4. Now, to reclaim its position, or at least put a pause to its nosedive, it needs to introduce something different to the consumers. As to that, Samsung has to acquire a strong understanding on the consumer demand and carry out several market surveys to bring out the best phone in the business. Perhaps sleeker designs, less bloatware and software features could come to Samsung’s rescue, features that people actually use and like.
