Samsung's Tries To Regain Its Lost Glory

In another desperate attempt by Samsung (SSNLF, Financial) to claim its throne back from the recent battle winner Apple (AAPL, Financial), Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. launched its new Samsung Galaxy S phone with a sleek body made from the aircraft grade metal. Apple has since retained the position of undisputed global smart phone leader.

Samsung experienced the first annual earning fall in 2014 the last three years, and Samsung Galaxy s6 is the way to plunge out its profit from the pit. S6 is the phone that has been designed from the scratch and operation was dubbed as "Project Zero." The curved edge variants of S6 are critical for Samsung to bounce back in the smart phone market. A lot has changed in three years; Samsung entered the market as the low price replacement for Apple and a gift for the Smartphone lover, but the same has happened to Samsung now. The new entrants have given Samsung a taste of its own medicine by launching cheap imitations of Samsung smart phones and its premium range as well.

Apple surged ahead of Samsung recently

Many reports suggest that Apple surpassed Samsung late last year as the world’s biggest Smartphone maker. Apple sold more than 74.5 million phones in the December quarter with the launch of its big screen I phone 6 and 6 plus. Samsung’s previous galaxy S5 flagship was outsold in a month of its launch by the Apple 5S and 5S gold in global market according to many researchers. Samsung trey has turned since last year; since the S4 the company has not performed up to the expectations in the market. The reason may be that the imitations have not affected the market share of Apple users but has certainly attacked the Samsung users market. Brand loyalty is found in greater numbers among Apple users than in the Smartphone users of Samsung and many other Android phones.

The South Korean giant is ready to overhaul its position in the market after the fight-back begins April 10. The company is yet to put the word out on the pricing of the product in the market. The only thing that separated the Samsung market segment and makes it attractive is the economic pricing technique by the company. It will hit the market with one of the most important product launches in a long time or in the history of the company.

Samsung learned from the previous mistake

The company launches its phone with many standout features. From its previous criticism on s5, s6 has new outlook first is the airplane metal body and upgrade from the plastic body and the double coating of gorilla glass on both front and back. Samsung has upgraded the camera and screen of the phone from the previous version and also has decided to strip out many unwanted and unused apps from the previous versions of the phone. This will save the memory of the phone, make processing fast and will surely irritate users less. The new 64-bit, 14-nanometer Exynos processor will power this version of S6 edge. The phone is the first on the Samsung platform to support wireless charging as a standard feature. The new thing that helps make it slimmer is the non-removable battery and the Quick cord charging gives around 4 hours of backup to the phone with a mere 10 minutes of charging.

The phone will also offer a mobile payment system and for this the company is tying up with many banks and credit card companies like MasterCard and Visa. The company has done this in response to Apple’s pay system launched in U.S. in September and is being widely recognized by many retailers in the country. Samsung has added a mobile magnetic strip card reader which will allow the mobile payment.
