As per the original tradition, Apple (AAPL, Financial) has always brought in a “S” edition of the existing iPhone version as seen for the iPhone 5 model which was succeeded by the iPhone 5S model. But this time, analysts are speculating that the technology giant might change the trend by releasing the iPhone 7 with remodeled features in September this year, instead of the iPhone 6S. With the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus going strong after their formal launch, all eyes are now eager to know the extra features that would be eminent in the upcoming flagship smartphone of the tech giant. Let’s quickly find out what upgrades are being expected with regard to the next smartphone expected to be announced in September this year.

The design would remain unchanged

The look and feel of the new iPhone would probably remain unchanged and would resemble the iPhone 6 closely. It is in rumors that the new model would use the same chasis and would come in similar colour options as the existing models. However, it’s expected to be much more slim and lighter due to use of the new sapphire glass.

As seen in the near past, the S model usually sticks to the same screen size of the original model, hence it is being widely estimated that the screen for the standard iPhone 6S would be of 4.7 inches size and that of the iPhone 6S Plus model would remain at 5.5 inches. Rumors, however, are stating that the resolution of the new smartphone is likely to see a makeover and would have a 5 inch display with a 400 ppi.

The expectations on the upgrades

Analysts are hoping that the new model would have a new processor and could have a A9 chip with the RAM upgraded to 2GB. In fact, the upgradation of the RAM would boost the smartphone’s performance and AppleInsider claims that the future model with obviously see such an upgrade.

With Apple having recently acquired LinX, a company that develops advanced camera sensors, for $20 million – rumors are ripe that this new generation of iPhone would “deliver the biggest camera jump ever”. It has been noted by website ComputerWorld that in comparison to iPhone 5S , Linx technology would aid in developing phone cameras that would click sharper and cleaner images and offer much better performance at low light levels. In fact, there is a possibility that the camera inside the future iPhone is capable of DSLR-like image capture. Though there are rumors on the 21 Mp rear camera in the new iPhone, analysts are not very hopeful on the same and are expecting Apple to stick to the 8 Mp camera for the new iPhone 6S.

It is in the news that the Touch ID fingerprint scanner could be integrated into the display in the upcoming model, rather than sitting in the home button. And the best part in the new iPhone is that it could be pre-loaded with iOS 9 which will probably be shared in detail during the Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC) 2015 to be held by Apple in June this year.

It has also been shared that the model would come with Force Touch feature that could remove the “Home” button and make the device’s screen larger.

Last word

Though the final features in the upcoming iPhone 6S or iPhone 7 would get revealed only after a few months by Apple, rumors do indicate that the next flagship model would be reportedly 60% stronger than the current model on sale. With the Apple’s new device probably being sleeker, stronger, lighter and more advanced in terms of hardware components – investors are waiting for the model to be announced most probably in September 2015.
