U.S. equity market indexes were down in August. The S&P 500 fell 6.25% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 6.57%. Year-to-date the Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 8.25% led by losses from Chevron (CVX, Financial) and E. I. du Pont de Nemours & Company (DD, Financial). The market is expected to see continued volatility through September as uncertainty around Fed policy changes remain.
