Guru Steve Mandel has recently been increasing his holdings of Dollar Tree Stores Inc. (DLTR, Financial) and Williams Companies (WMB, Financial).

Mandel graduated from Dartmouth College in 1978, and later graduated with an MBA from Harvard University. Mandel has been managing hedge funds since 1990, when he was the manager of Tiger Management. He then left Tiger and formed his own hedge fund, Lone Pine Capital, in 1997. Mandel has a net worth of $2.3 billion, according to Forbes.com

On Nov. 13, he added an additional 8,054,727 shares to his position in Dollar Tree Stores, an increase of 156.73%. He held a total of 13,194,122 shares after the increase.

Dollar Tree Stores Inc. is an operator of discount variety stores offering merchandise at the fixed price of $1.00. At Jan. 31, the company operated 5,367 retail locations.

Dollar Tree Stores has a market cap of $18.17 billion, a P/E ratio of 62.99, an enterprise value of $25.41 billion and a quick ratio of 0.67.
