In 1993, Warren Buffett (Trades, Portfolio) invested in a retail property adjacent to New York University; the Resolution Trust. To Buffett, the analysis was simple. The largest tenant was paying rent of about $5 per square foot while other tenants were willing to pay much more. As discussed in Buffett's shareholder letter of 2014, the investment turned out to be highly profitable. This month's newsletter is about such a company. Interestingly, Buffett has recently bought shares of this company for his own account.

“It's far better to buy a wonderful company at a fair price than a fair company at a wonderful price….when buying companies or common stocks, we look for first-class businesses accompanied by first-class managements.”

- Warren Buffett (Trades, Portfolio) (1989)
