William Shepro (Insider Trades), CEO of Altisource Portfolio Solutions SA (ASPS), purchased 1,700 company shares on May 2.

The price per share was $29.27 for a total transaction of $49,759. Altisource Portfolio Solutions is a marketplace and transaction solutions provider for the real estate, mortgage and consumer debt industries. The company has a market cap of $550.50 million and a P/S ratio of 0.55.

Insider buy volume increased from 1,715 shares in 2013 to 233,594 shares in 2014. The volume decreased to 61,521 shares in the following year. The volume and number of insider shares sold followed a pattern opposite to insider buys. The company announced total revenue of $234.28 million for the first quarter of 2016 ended on March 31. Total revenue is up from $207.82 million reported by the company in the first quarter of 2015. Net income also increased about 400% from $3.7 million, or 18 cents per share, to $18.49 million, or 98 cents per share, in the same time period. Altisource will sponsor four homebuilding projects in Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles and St. Louis as well as 116 neighborhood revitalization projects in Michigan, Texas, Arizona and Georgia.

The company also will invest in Habitat for Humanity’s clean water sourcing in India and the Philippines. Wilcox commented that the company is “proud to partner with such an esteemed organization like Habitat for Humanity and engage [Altisource] employees and customers in the effort to improve and revitalize communities around the world.”

Murray Stahl (Trades, Portfolio) increased his stake in Altisource Portfolio Solutions in the first quarter of 2015, acquiring 1,071 shares at an average price of $26.63 per share. The purchase increased Stahl’s stake in the company by 5.39%. Stahl reduced his stake in the company by 30.63% in the fourth quarter, selling 8,778 shares at an average per share price of $27.9.
