For the 17th consecutive year, Warren Buffett (Trades, Portfolio) is auctioning off a lunch date with himself to benefit GLIDE, a charity serving the poor and homeless of San Francisco. Investors like Mohnish Pabrai (Trades, Portfolio) have won the "power lunch" in the past, bringing Buffett's total raised to more than $20 million for the organization to provide much-needed assistance to the most vulnerable members of society.

“I am proud to be part of something that has directly benefited so many people in need,” said Buffett, founder of Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A, Financial)(BRK.B, Financial). “GLIDE is a bridge for thousands of people on the brink of despair, helping them achieve dignity and opportunity by providing them with basic services. Their vital work has a direct and immediate impact.”

The event was founded by Buffett's late wife, Susie Buffett, who was strongly connected to the organization. Last year, the winning bid was $2.4 million, but past winning tickets have ranged from a mere $25,000 to $3.5 million.

The auction begins on eBay June 5 and starts at $25,000. You can bid here.
