Interview of David Winter by Louis Rukeyser's Wall Street and his single best advice to investors. His current portfolio: Cash is about 15%, U.S. is about 25% and 60% is overseas—25% to 30% in Asia and the rest in Western Europe and Canada.

Asia has been a productive hunting ground for you. Is that still the case?

Yes. You know, the wealth creation that’s going on there is just mind boggling. And we’ve tried to find companies that will have a piece of the action. There’s a company in Malaysia called Genting that is listed on the Kuala Lumpur stock exchange. It’s a conglomerate that’s been around for more than 40 years, and their core business is gaming and entertainment. The company is shifting its focus toward international opportunities outside its core market in Malaysia, and they’ve just begun the process of dismantling the conglomerate. The management is very good. They won the Sentosa concession in

Singapore to build an integrated resort; you have Las Vegas Sands with one concession and Genting with the other. They also own the largest gaming company in the U.K., and they just agreed to

sell their paper business.
