We are proud to announce we have redesigned the summary pages for exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Page layout

You will notice we now have different page layouts for stocks (e.g. Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT, Financial), Apple Inc. (AAPL, Financial) and Microsoft Corp. (MSFT, Financial)) and ETFs. If you type “SPY” in the search bar and click on SPDR S&P 500 (SPY, Financial), you will get a page with a header like the one shown in Figure 1.

The ETF page contains five sections: Summary, Fundamental Charts, Technical Indicators, Guru Trades and Headlines.

Summary

The Summary section includes the following data for an ETF:

  • Historical Price Chart: The chart graphs each day’s open, high, low and close price for the ETF as candlesticks. For a specific candlestick, red indicates the ETF closed lower than the opening price while green indicates that the ETF closed higher than the opening price.
  • Trading Data: You will see the ETF’s open, high, low and close price for the current trading day here. We also give you the ETF’s 52-week range.
  • Fundamental Data: You will see the ETF’s market cap, total shares outstanding, price-earnings (P/E) ratio and price-book (P/B) ratio in this section.
  • Dividend: You will see the ETF’s trailing 12-month dividend, the dividend yield, the last pay date and the dividend frequency in this section.

Technical Indicators

The Technical Indicators section details information on various technical indicators, including moving averages, price change, average volume, relative strength index and momentum. Figure 3 shows a sample Technical Indicators section for the SPY.

Guru Trades

This section allows you to see which gurus have made trades in the ETF. You can view the guru trades that are available based on your membership level.

Premium members can access our “ETFs in Guru Portfolios” page, which lists the number of guru owners, the combined weightings, the dividend yield and the number of guru buys and sells in the most recent quarter for each ETF. You can click on a specific ETF to view that ETF’s summary page.

Headlines

This section allows you to view articles that pertain to the ETF.

Conclusion

While free members can access the ETF pages, you still need Premium membership to view the Premium guru trades and Premium Plus membership to view the trades from over 4,000 institutions that file 13F's.
