The VIX Volatility Index was higher at 33.66 for a gain of 5.93 points or 21.38%.

Stocks reported another day of substantial losses with the Dow Jones falling -1,032.89 points. Treasury yields continued to be a factor with the 10-year Treasury yield reaching an intraday high of 2.875%.
Jobless claims was the only market moving report on the economic calendar Thursday. Jobless claims decreased 9,000 to 221,000.
