Jim Rogers appeared on Bloomberg on October 28, 2009 to touch on several topics and also to take on viewer's questions. Below are the notes I took during the half hour interview.

Notes On Jim Rogers October 28, 2009 Appearance

  • $USD overdue for a rally
  • Might be a decline in commodity prices for a while
  • Currently owns the Yen and is optimistic about it
  • Currently owns "baby" stocks in Japan
  • Stock markets and the economy are two different things, we have had good stock markets along with bad economies and vice versa
  • Over the long haul, Gold will be higher than today, $2,000/oz.
  • Would rather buy silver than gold for right now
  • Inventories of agriculture products are the lowest they have been in decades
  • China has been spending most of their reserves better than the U.K. and some of the other companies
  • Hard assets will be a great way to protect one's portfolio from inflation down the road
  • Farming will be the next great industry in the next 20-30 years
