Consuelo Mack of WealthTrack Interviews Ed Hyman and Francois Trahan

On this week's WealthTrack, Consuelo Mack interviewed two investment champions: Ed Hyman of ISI Group., Wall Street's number one ranked economist for an unprecedented thirty years running, and Francois Trahan, top ranked portfolio strategist. The two share their 2010 forecasts.


A brief bio of Ed Hyman (via www.edhyman.com):

For each of the past 30 years, Ed Hyman has been rated the # 1 economist on Wall Street by the Institutional Investor poll of investors. Ed is Chairman of ISI Group, Inc. (broker dealer) and ISI Inc. (funds management). ISI has 150 employees with offices in New York and Washington DC. ISI has Institutional Investor #1 research teams in four macro areas: portfolio strategy, Washington research, technical analysis, and economics. In addition, ISI has Institutional Investor #1 research teams in Software, Machinery and Accounting & Tax Policy. ISI also has a ranked quantitative research team. ISI’s broker dealer clients are institutional investors in the U.S. and abroad.


Prior to forming both of these companies in 1991, he was Vice Chairman and a member of the Board of C.J. Lawrence Inc., which he joined in 1972. He was an economic consultant at Data Resources, Inc. from 1969 to 1971. He received an MBA from MIT in 1969 and a BS in Engineering from the University of Texas in 1967.

FRANCOIS TRAHAN is an Executive Managing Director and ISI's Chief Investment Strategist and is also head of ISI's Quantitative Research Team. François heads ISI's Investment Policy Committee and is a member of ISI's Management Committee. His areas of expertise include portfolio strategy, sector selection, asset allocation, and quantitative analysis. He has been an Institutional Investor's ranked portfolio strategist for the past 4 years, and was ranked #1 in 2008.


Prior to joining ISI in 2007, François was chief investment strategist of Bear Stearns for 4 years and had earlier worked for Ned Davis Research and the Bank Credit Analyst Research Group.


Francois graduated from the University of Montreal in 1992 and received his MS in economics and international finance, also from the University of Montreal in 1994.
