Bridge Bancorp, Inc., was incorporated under the laws of the State of New York in 1988. It is a bank holding company for The Bridgehampton National Bank. The Bank operates twenty two branches on eastern Long Island. Federally chartered in 1910, the Bank was founded by local farmers and merchants. The Bank engages in full service commercial and consumer banking business, including accepting time, savings and demand deposits from the consumers, businesses and local municipalities surrounding its branch offices. These deposits, together with funds generated from operations and borrowings, are invested primarily in: commercial real estate loans; home equity loans; construction loans; residential mortgage loans; secured and unsecured commercial and consumer loans; FHLB, FNMA, GNMA and FHLMC and non-agency mortgage-backed securities, collateralized mortgage obligations and other asset backed securities; New York State and local municipal obligations; and U.S government sponsored entity securities. The Bank also offers the CDARS program, providing up to $50.0 million of FDIC insurance to its customers. In addition, the Bank offers merchant credit and debit card processing, automated teller machines, cash management services, lockbox processing, online banking services, remote deposit capture, safe deposit boxes, individual retirement accounts and investment services through Bridge Investment Services, offering a full range of investment products and services through a third party broker dealer. Through its title insurance abstract subsidiary, the Bank acts as a broker for title insurance services. The Bank's customer base is comprised principally of small businesses, municipal relationships and consumer relationships. The Bank's principal market area is located in Suffolk County, New York. The Bank competes with commercial banks, savings banks, credit unions, insurance companies, and brokerage and investment banking firms. The Bank and Company are subject to extensive regulation, supervision and examination by the OCC, the FDIC, the Federal Reserve Board and the SEC.
