Burberry Group PLC designs, sources, and markets luxury clothing and non-apparel accessories for men, women and children through a network of retail, wholesale, franchise and digital commerce channels.

Founded in 1856, Burberry started as a maker of rugged outerwear, raincoats, and even uniforms worn by the military, explorers, and pilots. Today, Burberry is the largest U.K.-based luxury house and has been publicly traded on the London exchange since 2002. As of fiscal 2015-16 (which ended in March 2016), Burberry had 216 owned retail stores, 57 outlets, 208 concessions, and 65 franchises. Accessories represented over 36% of Burberry sales, and Asia (excluding Japan) is its largest sales region, with 38% of revenue.
