Camac Energy, Inc., was incorporated in Delaware on December 12, 1979 as Gemini Marketing Associates Inc. The Company's name was changed from Pacific Asia Petroleum, Inc. to CAMAC Energy Inc. upon the acquisition of oil and gas properties located offshore Nigeria in April 2010. The Company is engaged in the exploration, development, and production of oil and gas outside the United States, directly and through joint ventures. It operates in the upstream segment of the oil and gas industry in exploration and producing activities. The Company has offices in Nairobi, Kenya and Lagos, Nigeria. Its assets include rights to interests in OML 120 and OML 121, offshore oil and gas leases in deep water Nigeria which include the currently producing Oyo Oilfield, and interests in six recently acquired exploration blocks in Kenya and Gambia. It competes with numerous large international oil companies and smaller oil companies that target opportunities in markets similar to the Company's, including the natural gas and petroleum markets.
