Cumulus Media, Inc., a Delaware corporation was organized in 2002. The Company operates under one reportable business segment which is radio broadcasting. The Company owns and operates commercial radio station clusters throughout the United States. At December 31, 2013, it owned or operated approximately 450 radio stations (including under LMAs) in 93 United States media markets and operated nationwide radio networks serving over 10,000 affiliates. At December 31, 2012, under LMAs, it provided sales and marketing services for 7 radio stations in the United States. Revenue is derived mainly from the sale of commercial airtime to local and national advertisers. The Company's stations compete for listeners and advertising revenues directly with other radio stations within their respective markets, as well as with other advertising media.
