Columbia Banking System, Inc., was established in 1993, through its wholly owned banking subsidiaries, provides a range of banking services to small and medium-sized businesses, professionals and other individuals. At December 31, 2011 Columbia Bank had 102 branch locations in Washington and Oregon. Included in these branch locations are six Columbia Bank branches doing business in Oregon under the Bank of Astoria name in Astoria, Warrenton, Seaside and Cannon Beach in Clatsop County and in Manzanita and Tillamook in Tillamook County. In Washington State, the Portland metropolitan and northern coastal areas of Oregon, the company conducts a full-service commercial banking business through its wholly owned banking subsidiary, Columbia State Bank. The Company is managed along two major lines of business within the Columbia Bank banking subsidiary: commercial banking and retail banking. The treasury function of the company is responsible for the management of investments and interest rate risk. The Company offers its personal banking customers an assortment of account products including non-interest and interest bearing checking, savings, money market and certificate of deposit accounts. The Company's online banking service, Columbia Online, provides its personal banking customers with the ability to conduct their banking business 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Columbia Private Banking offers affluent clientele and their businesses complex financial solutions, such as deposit and cash management services, credit services, and wealth management strategies. Through CB Financial Services, personal banking customers are provided with a range of investment options including mutual funds, stocks, bonds, retirement accounts, annuities, tax-favored investments, US Government securities as well as long-term care and life insurance policies. Investment professionals are available to provide advisory services and assist customers with retirement, education and other financial planning activities. The Company offers a variety of loan products tailored to meet the various needs of business banking customers. Commercial loan products include accounts receivable, inventory and equipment financing as well as Small Business Administration financing. Business clients that utilize Columbia's Merchant Card Services have the ability to accept both Visa and MasterCard sales drafts for deposit directly into their business checking account. Through CB Financial Services, customers are provided with investment options and tools and resources necessary to assist them in reaching their investment goals. Some of the investment solutions available to customers include 401(k), Simple IRA, Simple Employee Pensions, Buy-Sell Agreements, Key-Man Insurance, Business Succession Planning and personal investments.
