GuruFocus Profitability Rank ranks how profitable a company is and how likely the company’s business will stay that way. It is based on these factors:

1. Operating Margin
2. Trend of the Operating Margin (5-year average). The company with an uptrend profit margin has a higher rank.
••3. Consistency of the profitability
4. Piotroski F-Score
5. Predictability Rank•

The maximum rank is 10. A rank of 7 or higher means a higher profitability and may stay that way. A rank of 3 or lower indicates that the company has had trouble to make a profit.

Profitability Rank is not directly related to the Financial Strength Rank. But if a company is consistently profitable, its financial strength will be stronger.

Crawford & Company is provider of claims management solutions to the risk management and insurance industry, as well as to self-insured entities, with network serving clients in more than 70 countries.

Crawford & Company was founded in 1941. The Company is a provider of claims management solutions to the risk management and insurance industry, as well as to self-insured entities, with network serving clients in more than 70 countries. The Crawford System of Claims Solutions offers claims services, business process outsourcing and consulting services for product lines including property and casualty claims management, workers' compensation claims and medical management, and legal settlement administration. The Company has four operating segments: U.S. Services, which serves the U.S. property and casualty insurance company markets; International, which serves the property and casualty insurance company and self-insurance markets outside of the U.S.; Broadspire, which serves the self-insurance marketplace, primarily in the U.S.; and Garden City Group, which serves the class action, regulatory, mass tort, bankruptcy, and other legal administration markets, primarily in the U.S. The Company's Americas segment provides claims management services in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean, mainly to insurance companies. These insurance companies customarily manage their own claims administration function, but often rely upon third-party service providers for the services which the Company provides, mainly with respect to the field investigation and evaluation of property and casualty insurance claims. Americas' revenues are reported for three regions: U.S. Property & Casualty, USP&C; Canada; and Latin America/Caribbean. U.S. Claims Field Operations, Contractor Connection, U.S. Technical Services, and U.S. Catastrophe Services make up the Company's U.S. Property & Casualty operations. The Company's EMEA/AP revenues are derived mainly from the insurance company and third-party administration markets. In the insurance company market, EMEA/AP provides field investigation and evaluation of property and casualty insurance claims. Revenues for EMEA/AP are reported for three regions: the U.K.; Continental Europe, the Middle East and Africa, CEMEA; and Asia-Pacific. Broadspire is a third-party administrator to employers and insurance companies, offering a platform of workers' compensation and liability claims management as well as medical management services. Through this segment, the Company serves clients in the self-insured or commercially insured marketplace by providing them with claims and risk management services. The Company provides legal settlement administration services related to settlements of securities cases, product liability cases, bankruptcy noticing and distribution, and other legal settlements, by identifying and qualifying class members, determining and dispensing settlement payments, and administering settlement funds. Such services are generally referred to by the Company as class action services and are performed by The Garden City Group, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company. Its main competitors i
