Clifton Bancorp Inc is a Maryland corporation that was incorporated in November 2013 to be the successor corporation to Clifton Savings Bancorp, Inc. The Company's business activities consist of the ownership of Clifton Savings Bank's capital stock and investment in securities. The Company operates as a community-oriented financial institution offering traditional financial services to consumers and businesses in its market area. It attracts deposits from the general public and use those funds to originate one- to four-family, multi-family and commercial real estate, and, to a much lesser extent, consumer loans, all of which it currently hold for investment. The Company's loan portfolio consists of owner-occupied, one- to four-family mortgage loans secured by properties located in New Jersey. Its loan portfolio also includes multi-family and commercial real estate loans, consumer loans and residential construction loans. Clifton Savings Bank generally holds the loans it originates in its own portfolio. The Company's consumer loans include second mortgage loans and home equity loans, as well as loans secured by passbook accounts and certificates of deposit. It offers second mortgage loans and home equity loans with combined loan-to-value ratios not to exceed 80%. As a savings and loan holding company, the Company is subject to Federal Reserve Board regulations, examinations, supervision, reporting requirements and regulations regarding its activities.
