Cooper Tire & Rubber Co produces and markets passenger, light truck, medium truck, motorsport and motorcycle tires which are sold nationally and internationally in the replacement tire market.

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co was incorporated in the State of Delaware on March 26, 1930. The Company along with its subsidiaries is engaged in manufacturing and marketing replacement tires. The Company specializes in the design, manufacture, marketing and sales of passenger car and light truck tires. The Company and its subsidiaries also sell medium truck, motorcycle and racing tires. The Company operates in four geographical segments including North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia. North America composed of the Company's operations in the United States (U.S.) and Canada; Latin America, composed of the Company's operations in Mexico, Central America and South America; Europe; and Asia. North America and Latin America segments are presented as Americas Tire Operations; and Asia and Europe segments are presented as International Tire Operations. The Americas Tire Operations segment manufactures and markets passenger car and light truck tires, primarily for sale in the U.S. replacement market. The segment also has a joint venture manufacturing operation in Mexico, Corporacion de Occidente SA de CV (COOCSA), which supplies passenger car tires to the U.S., Mexican, Central American and South American markets. The segment also distributes tires for racing, medium trucks and motorcycles. The racing and motorcycle tires are manufactured in the Company's European Operations and by others. The medium truck tires are sourced through an off-take agreement with the Company's former joint venture known as Prinx Chengshan (Shandong) Tire Company Ltd. The distribution channels and customers include independent tire dealers, wholesale distributors, regional and national retail tire chains, and large retail chains that sell tires as well as other automotive products. The International Tire Operations segment is the combination of the Asia and Europe operating segments. The European operations have manufacturing facilities in the United Kingdom (U.K.) and the Republic of Serbia (Serbia). The U.K. entity manufactures and markets passenger car, light truck, motorcycle and racing tires and tire retread material for the domestic and global markets. The Serbian entity manufactures light vehicle tires primarily for the European markets and for export to the U.S. The Asian operations are located in the People's Republic of China. In China, Cooper Kunshan Tire manufactures light vehicle tires. The Company designs and manufactures tires under brands including Mastercraft, Dean, Starfire, Roadmaster, Avon Tyres, Mickey Thompson, Dick Cepek, and Mentor. The Company faces competition from competitors including Bridgestone Corporation, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and Groupe Michelin. The Company is subject to federal, state, local and foreign laws and regulations.
