Deluxe Corporation was incorporated under the laws of the State of Minnesota in 1920. From 1920 until 1988 the Company was named Deluxe Check Printers, Incorporated. Through its businesses and brands, the Company helps small businesses and financial institutions to manage, promote, and grow their businesses. The Company uses direct marketing, a North American sales force, financial institution referrals, independent distributors and the internet to provide its customers a range of customized products and services: personalized printed items, promotional products and merchandising materials, fraud prevention services and financial institution customer retention programs. The Company also sells personalized checks and accessories directly to consumers. The Company's business segments consist of Small Business Services, Financial Services and Direct Checks. Small Business Services operates under various brands including Deluxe, NEBS, Safeguard, McBee, Stephen·Fossler, Johnson Group, Hostopia, PartnerUp, Logo Mojo, and from Company's recent acquisitions, Aplus.netSM and MerchEngines.comSM. This segment has sold personalized printed products, which include business checks, printed forms, promotional products, marketing materials and related services, as well as retail packaging supplies and a suite of business services, including web design and hosting, fraud protection, payroll, logo design, search engine marketing and business networking, to over four million small business customers in the United States, Canada and Europe in the last 24 months. Financial Services sells personal and business checks, check-related products and services, customer loyalty and retention programs, fraud monitoring and protection services, and stored value gift cards to banks and other financial institutions primarily through a direct sales force. As part of its check programs, the Company also offers enhanced services such as customized reporting, file management and expedited account conversion support. Direct Checks is direct-to-consumer check supplier, selling under the Checks Unlimited, Designer Checks and Checks.com brand names. Through these brands, the Company sells personal and business checks and related products and services directly to consumers using direct response marketing and the internet. The Company is a provider of printed forms to small businesses. Printed forms include billing forms, work orders, job proposals, purchase orders, invoices and personnel forms. The Company's stationery, letterhead, envelopes and business cards are produced in a variety of formats and ink colors. These items are designed to provide small business owners with the customized documents necessary to efficiently manage their business. The Company also provides promotional printed items and digital printing services designed to fulfill selling and marketing needs of the small businesses.
