GuruFocus Profitability Rank ranks how profitable a company is and how likely the company’s business will stay that way. It is based on these factors:

1. Operating Margin
2. Trend of the Operating Margin (5-year average). The company with an uptrend profit margin has a higher rank.
••3. Consistency of the profitability
4. Piotroski F-Score
5. Predictability Rank•

The maximum rank is 10. A rank of 7 or higher means a higher profitability and may stay that way. A rank of 3 or lower indicates that the company has had trouble to make a profit.

Profitability Rank is not directly related to the Financial Strength Rank. But if a company is consistently profitable, its financial strength will be stronger.

Guru Investment Theses on Domino's Pizza Inc

Wasatch International Growth Fund Comments on Domino’s Pizza Group plc - Dec 08, 2015

In the U.K., the economy looks to be on solid footing with all of the main sectors of the economy growing. Solid domestic demand has been supported by economic data including inflation, employment, and wage growth numbers. There is concern that the strengthening currency could dampen economic activity, particularly for exporters. While a broad based economic recovery is favorable for companies in general, we believe our holdings are market leaders in their respective categories and are capable of driving organic growth over the long term. For example, Domino’s Pizza Group plc (NYSE:DPZ), another top contributor in the portfolio this quarter, continues to grow organically through innovation and strong execution. The company is leveraging the Internet and technology to drive the customer proposition and efficiencies throughout the organization. This is resulting in strong same-store-sales, margin expansion and cash generation.

Baron Funds Comments on Domino’s Pizza Group PLC - Nov 03, 2015

Domino’s Pizza Group PLC (NYSE:DPZ) is the master franchisee of the Domino’s Pizza brand in the U.K., Ireland and other European countries. The company entered continental Europe with the goal of replicating its success in the U.K. When its share price corrected substantially due to lack of progress in Germany, we built a position on the belief that the market had overpenalized it for the weakness in Germany and that its business there would make progress. During the third quarter, the company reported earnings that demonstrated a solid turnaround in Germany. (Kyuhey August)

During the first quarter, shares responded favorably to the release of solid earnings results and an upgrade on guidance for its Japanese business.
