Echo Global Logistics Inc was formed as a Delaware limited liability company in January 2005. The Company is a provider of technology-enabled transportation and supply chain management services, delivered on a proprietary technology platform serving the transportation and logistics needs of its clients. The Company provides services across all main transportation modes, including truckload, less-than truck-load, small parcel, inter-modal, domestic air, and international. The Company's core logistics services include rate negotiation, shipment execution and tracking, carrier management, routing compliance, freight bill audit, and payment and performance management and reporting functions, including executive dashboard tools. Its web-based technology platform compiles and analyzes data from its multi-modal network of transportation providers to satisfy the transportation and logistics needs of its clients. It engages mainly on arranging transportation by truckload and less than truckload carriers. Its clients fall into two categories: Transactional and Enterprise clients. It service Transactional clients on a shipment-by-shipment basis, while it enters into multi-year contracts with its Enterprise clients. Primary competitors to its services include other national non-asset based third-party logistics companies, as well as regional or niche freight brokerages, asset-based carriers offering brokerage and logistics services, wholesale inter-modal transportation service providers and rail carriers. The Company is subject to applicable federal and state regulation.
