Business Description

Ellington Financial LLC is a specialty finance company formed in August 2007. The Company acquires and manages mortgage-related assets, including residential mortgage-backed securities backed by prime jumbo, manufactured housing, Alt-A and subprime residential mortgage loans, RMBS for which the principal and interest payments are guaranteed by a U.S. Government agency or a U.S. Government-sponsored entity, mortgage-related derivatives, commercial mortgage-backed securities, commercial mortgage loans and other commercial real estate debt, as well as corporate debt and equity securities and derivatives. It also may opportunistically acquire and manage other types of mortgage-related and financial asset classes, such as residential whole mortgage loans, asset-backed securities backed by consumer and commercial assets, and non-mortgage-related derivatives. It is externally managed and advised by its Manager, an affiliate of Ellington. Ellington is also a registered investment advisor with a 17-year history of investing in a broad spectrum of mortgage-backed securities and related derivatives. Its primary objective is to generate attractive, risk-adjusted total returns for its shareholders. The Company competes with mortgage REITs, specialty finance companies, savings and loan associations, banks, mortgage bankers, insurance companies, mutual funds, institutional investors, investment banking firms, financial institutions, governmental bodies and other entities.
