Ltd. was formed as a Cayman Islands corporation on August 9, 2004 under the name 'Neo-Luck Plastic Holdings Co., Ltd.' and changed its name to 'Fuwei Films (Holdings) Co., Ltd.' in April 2005. The Company develops, manufactures and distributes high quality plastic film using the biaxially oriented stretch technique, otherwise known as BOPET film. The film is suitable for flexible packaging, printing, laminating, aluminum-plating and other applications. The BOPET film is used in consumer based packaging, such as the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, tobacco and alcohol industries, imaging, such as printing plates and microfilms, electronics and electrical industries, such as wire and cable wrap, capacitors and motor insulation, as well as in magnetic products, such as audio and video tapes. The Company markets its products under brand name Fuwei Films and exports its products to packaging customers and distributors in the United States, Japan and Southeast Asia. Its main products include Printing base film, Stamping foil base film and transfer base films, Metallization film or aluminum plating base film, High-gloss film, Heat-sealable film, Laser holographic base film, Dry film, Heat shrinkage film and Chemically treated film. Printing film is a transparency film that is corona treated on one side to provide adhesion to ink. Stamping and transfer film is a film that displays thermal stability and tensile strength and is used in metallized film and laser stamping foil and transfer. Metallization film is an aluminum plating base film that displays thermal stability and tensile strength and provides adhesion between film and aluminum layer. The types of specialty film, which the Company produce include High-gloss film, Heat-sealable film, Dry film, Heat shrinkage film and Chemically treated film.
