Female Health Co was incorporated in Wisconsin in 1971. The Company is engaged in development, manufacture and marketing of consumer health care products. The Company is engaged in the marketing, manufacture and distribution of a consumer health care product, the FC2 female condom. FC2 is the only currently available female-controlled product, approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and cleared by the World Health Organization for purchase by U.N. agencies, that provides dual protection against unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections ("STIs"), including HIV/AIDS. The raw material used to produce FC2 is a nitrile polymer. Its main market is public health sector. The principal raw material used to produce FC2 is a nitrile polymer. The Company's FC2 female condom participates in the same market as male condoms but is not seen as directly competing with male condoms. FC2 is subject to regulation by the FDA under the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, and by foreign regulatory agencies.
