Business Description

Fisher Communications, Inc. is an integrated media company that was founded in 1910 and the broadcasting business since 1926. The main operations of the company and its subsidiaries are television and radio broadcasting. It conducts its operations through two subsidiaries, Fisher Broadcasting Company ('Fisher Broadcasting') and Fisher Media Services Company ('Fisher Media Services'). The company owns and operates over 13 full power and seven low-power television stations and three radio stations. Its television and radio stations are located in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California and Montana. It also owns and operates Fisher Plaza, a mixed-use commercial facility located near downtown Seattle that serves as the home for its corporate offices and its Seattle television and radio stations, and also houses a number of unaffiliated companies, including media and communications companies. The company owns ABC and Univision network affiliates in both Seattle and Portland. It also owns three radio stations in Seattle. The company conducts its operations through two subsidiaries, Fisher Broadcasting company and Fisher Media Services Company. It has long-standing network affiliations with ABC and CBS, and also operates FOX and Univision affiliates as part of duopolies in several of its markets. Its television and radio stations are located in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho and Montana. Fisher Media Services Company owns and operates Fisher Plaza, a commercial building that includes a data center located near downtown Seattle. The data center is designed to enable companies to distribute analog and digital media content through numerous distribution channels, including broadcast, satellite, cable, Internet and broadband, as well as other wired and wireless communication systems. The ownership, operation and sale of broadcast stations are subject to the jurisdiction of the FCC under the Communications Act of 1934, as amended (the 'Communications Act').
