GlyEco, Inc., was incorporated in the State of Delaware on April 21, 1997 under the name Wagg Corp. On November 21, 2011, the Company reincorporated in the state of Nevada under the name GlyEco, Inc. The Company is a green chemistry company that collects and recycles waste glycol into a reusable product that is sold to third party customers in the automotive and industrial end-markets. Its proprietary technology, GlyEco Technology, allows the Company to recycle all five types of waste glycol into a virgin-quality product usable in any glycol application. Its GlyEco Technology uses a tri-phase recycling process to remove all oil, hydrocarbons, dissolved solids, undissolved solids, color, and smell. It is dedicated to conserving natural resources, limiting liability for waste generators, safeguarding the environment, and creating valuable green products. The Company currently operates seven processing centers in the United States. These processing centers are located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Indianapolis, Indiana, Lakeland, Florida, Elizabeth, New Jersey, Rock Hill, South Carolina, Tea, South Dakota, and Landover, Maryland. Its processing centers in Minnesota, Indiana, Florida, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Maryland offer waste glycol collection, recycling, and disposal services. It currently provides collection, recycling, and disposal services to over 3,500 waste glycol generators. The Company is used as a base chemical component in five industries; Automotive; Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning; Textiles; Airline; and Medical. It collects waste glycol directly from over 3,300 generators, such as oil change service stations, automotive and heavy equipment repair shops, automotive dealerships, vehicle fleet operations, plastic bottle manufacturers, virgin glycol refineries, and other companies that generate waste glycol. It sells to a variety of customers including automotive garages, vehicle fleet operations, antifreeze blenders, the U.S. government, and others. The Company competes with refinery grade glycol manufacturers, MEGlobal and SABIC; antifreeze producers; Prestone and Old World; and waste collectors, Safety Kleen. The Company is subject to federal, state, and local laws, regulations and ordinances relating to the protection of the environment, including those governing discharges to air and water, handling and disposal practices for solid and hazardous wastes, and occupational health and safety.
