GameStop Corp is incorporated in Delaware on November 1996. The Company is a multichannel video game retailer. It sells new and pre-owned video game hardware, physical and digital video game software, accessories, as well as PC entertainment software, new and pre-owned mobile and consumer electronics products and other merchandise. As of February 1, 2014, the Company's retail network and family of brands include approximately 6,690 company-operated stores in the United States, Australia, Canada and Europe, under the names GameStopTM (GameStop), EB GamesTM (EB Games), and Micromania. The Company also operate Simply Mac(c), a U.S. based, certified Apple(c) (Apple) products reseller; Spring Mobile(c), an authorized AT&T(r) (AT&T) reseller operating AT&T branded wireless retail stores in the United States; and pre-paid wireless stores under the name Aio WirelessTM (Aio Wireless, an AT&T brand) as part of its expanding relationship with AT&T. The Company operates in two segments Video Game Brands segments and Technology Brands segment. Geographically, The Video Game Brand segment operates in United States, Canada, Australia and Europe. Each of the Video Game Brands segments consists of retail operations, with all stores engaged in the sale of new and pre-owned video game systems, software and accessories, which the Company refer to as video game products. The Video Game Brands stores sells digital products, including downloadable content, network point cards, prepaid digital, online timecards and digitally downloadable software. They also carry mobile and consumer electronics products, which consist primarily of pre-owned mobile devices, tablets and related accessories. The Technology Brands segment includes Simply Mac, Spring Mobile and Aio Wireless stores. Simply Mac operates 60 stores which sell Apple products, including desktop computers, laptops, tablets and smart phones and related accessories and other consumer electronics products. Simply Mac also offers certified training, warranty and repair services to its customers. Spring Mobile sells post-paid AT&T services and wireless products through its 361 AT&T branded stores, as well as related accessories and other consumer electronics products. The Company competes with Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (Wal-Mart); Target Corporation (Target); Amazon.com, Inc. (Amazon.com); and Best Buy Co., Inc. (Best Buy). Competing video game specialists in Europe include Game Retail Limited based in the United Kingdom and its Spanish affiliate, Game Stores Iberia.
