HomeStreet Inc was founded in 1921 in the State of Washington. The Company, together with its subsidiaries, is a diversified financial services company serving customers in the Pacific Northwest, California and Hawaii. It is engaged in real estate lending, including mortgage banking activities, and commercial and consumer banking. It serves bank that provides residential and commercial loans, deposit products and services, non-deposit investment products, private banking and cash management services. Its loan products include single family residential mortgages, loans secured by commercial real estate, loans for residential and commercial real estate construction, and commercial business loans. HomeStreet Capital Corporation, a Washington corporation, originates, sells and services multifamily mortgage loans under the Fannie Mae Delegated Underwriting and Servicing Program in conjunction with HomeStreet Bank. Doing business as HomeStreet Insurance, it provides insurance products and services for consumers and businesses. It also offers single family home loans through its partial ownership in an affiliated business arrangement known as WMS Series LLC. The Company operates in two business segments; Commercial and Consumer Banking, and Mortgage Banking. Commercial and Consumer Banking provides diversified financial products and services to its commercial and consumer customers through personal service at bank branches and through ATMs, online, mobile and telephone banking. Its products and services include deposit products; residential, consumer and business portfolio loans; investment products; insurance products and cash management services. It originate residential and commercial construction loans, bridge loans and permanent loans for its portfolio on single family residences, and on office, retail, industrial and multifamily property types. Mortgage Banking originates and purchases single family mortgage loans for sale in the secondary markets. Its single family mortgage loans are originated on a retail basis by HomeStreet loan officers. The Company competes with banks, savings and loan associations, credit unions, mortgage banking companies, insurance companies, finance companies, and investment and mutual fund companies.
